This Just In From The Buff Desk ā
Your tabs multiplied. I narrowed them down, and hereās what actually mattered.
Substack just rolled out Creator Match to all publishers, matching creators with others who have similar-sized, overlapping audiences and are likely to make good collaborators. You can even message potential matches directly from the dashboard.
And it didnāt stop there: Substack also added audience-specific content blocks, global reply rules, better podcast transcript editing, and publishing to X, Threads, LinkedIn and Bluesky through Typefully.
Substack increasingly looks less like a newsletter tool and more like an operating system for independent media, and it might be time I revived mine.
If Hugging Face sounds vaguely familiar but youāve never quite known what it does: think of it as one of AIās biggest libraries. Developers go there to discover, download, test and share open-weight models, datasets and tools.
And NVIDIA already invested in the company back in 2023. The interesting part isnāt just the $13B price tag. NVIDIA already owns a huge piece of the compute infrastructure AI runs on. Hugging Face would put it much closer to the place where developers decide what actually runs on that infrastructure.
āComment GUIDE and Iāll DM it to youā is nothing new. Creators and marketers have been doing this with tools like Manychat for years. Whatās new is Meta bringing that workflow directly into Instagram ads.
The signal here isnāt automation. Itās Meta pulling more of the marketing funnel inside its own ecosystem. š¤
Challenge Set :
Three things to actually try this week!
Anthropic tested whether Claude could act as an alignment researcher. Hereās why I bookmarked it:AI is getting better at automating AI development. Anthropic is asking whether we can automate some of the safety research alongside it. | Tara Seshan, Product Lead - ChatGPT Work at OpenAI, joined Lennyās Podcast and made a case for how our jobs change when AI can increasingly execute the work. āNever automate writing-as-thinking ā - One of my FAV takeaways from the ep | I went down a rabbit hole looking for tiny product features that exist for no reason other than to make technology more fun. Turns out, you can catch butterflies on Threads, say āLumosā to turn on your iPhone flashlight and more whimsy here. |
Buff Picks: This yearās Marketing Brew Summit is getting into a pretty accurate list of everything marketers are trying to figure out right now. Featuring speakers from Dove, Reddit, IBM, and Profound. |
